The Independent Labour Party (ILP) was a socialist political party in the United Kingdom established in 1893. The ILP was affiliated as a constituent part of the Labour Party federation from its origin in 1906 until 1932, at which time the ILP left the larger group to pursue its own political path. The organisation saw its last three parliamentary representatives defect to the Labour Party in 1947 and was finally dissolved in 1975.
High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Alvis cars were produced by the manufacturer Alvis Car and Engineering Company Ltd of Coventry, United Kingdom from 1919 to 1967. The company also produced aero-engines and military vehicles, the latter continuing long after car production ceased. The original company, TG John and Co. Ltd., was founded in 1919. Its first products were stationary engines, carburettor bodies and motorscooters. The company's founder T.G. John was approached by Geoffrey de Freville with designs for a 4-cylinder engine with aluminium pistons and pressure lubrication, unusual for the period. Some have suggested that de Freville proposed the name Alvis as a compound of the words "aluminium" and "vis" (meaning "strength" in Latin) although de Freville himself vigorously denied this theory. Perhaps the name was derived from the Norse mythological weaponsmith, Alvíss, but the true origin is unknown. The first car model, the 10/30, using de Freville's design was an instant success and set the reputation for quality and performance for which the company became famous.
Chicken tikka masala, Hindi: is a curry dish of roast chicken chunks in a rich red, creamy, lightly spiced, tomato-based sauce. The dish is often confused with the similar dish known as Butter Chicken. The origins of the dish are disputed. One potential origin attributes its invention to a chef in Glasgow, United Kingdom. Attempts have been made to have the European Union grant chicken tikka masala Protected Geographical Status status as a Glaswegian dish. Another potential origin is as a variation on a traditional Mughlai dish. Surveys have found chicken tikka masala to be the most popular dish in British restaurants and it has been called "Britain's true national dish."

The Whigs are often described as one of the two original political parties (the other being the Tories) in England and later the United Kingdom from the late 17th to the mid-19th centuries. The Whigs' origin lay in constitutional monarchism and opposition to absolute rule. Both parties began as loose groupings or tendencies, but became quite formal by 1784, with the ascension of Charles James Fox as the leader of a reconstituted "Whig" party ranged against the governing party of the new "Tories" under William Pitt the Younger.
"Déjà Vu" is a song by American R&B singer-songwriter Beyoncé Knowles, featuring rapper artist Jay-Z. It was produced by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins and Knowles for her second solo album, B'Day. The song combines contemporary R&B and '70s funk and its varied instrumentation includes bass guitar, hi-hat, horns, and the Roland TR-808 drum machine. The song's title and lyrics refer to a woman being constantly reminded of a past lover. The song was released as the album's lead single in July 2006. Although it was recognized as "Best Song" at the 2006 Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards, "Déjà Vu" received mixed reviews from critics. The single entered the top ten on most charts, topping several of Billboard magazine's component charts and reaching number one in the United Kingdom. The single's music video displeased fans, thousands of whom petitioned for it to be re-shot, citing its sexual theme and Knowles' wardrobes, among other reasons.
